You pay a lot more for a product that works. I had to return a cheaper version but this one is great!We used this machine daily to open between 50 and 400 envelopes at one time. It was very loud. Each envelope had to be guided through. There was nothing hands free about it. It died about a year and a half in. I would think for only being used 20-30 minutes per day, it would have lasted longer.Great product. Only thing I don't like is the little pieces of envelope left. But so worth it to not have to open all the envelopes myself. I would recommend for small officesReplaced an opener we had used for over 30 years. Working well and much quieter.This opener worked great until just shy of a year having it. The blade stopped spinning when turned on. Disappointed that it stopped working. Bought this for our office and was hoping to have this for a longer time.I work in an office and get about 200 statements per month I need to open. The amount of time this has saved me, has saved me hundreds of billable hours!!!!!!! Plus it's fun to use.This envelop opener was purchased to replace a smaller unit that burned up literally from too much use. It was decided that we needed a larger unit as our incoming envelop volume is 200 to 300 hundred every day. The speed of this unit is great and feeding envelops in works great except if the envelop is bent, this causes a jam. Not a problem we had with the last opener. The product seems very sturdy. It does take up space on the desktop.We had a Martin Yale 1628 that was half the price of the 1632. The 1632 is so much better. It is well worth the extra money. It goes about 3 times as fast and you can run about 3 times as many in a batch.
